Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Stair Fabricator/Erector to join our team. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and installing structural steel stair systems for commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, can read drawings accurately, and works safely and efficiently both in the shop and on-site. Traveling is required.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural steel stair components including stringers, treads, landings, rails, and supports
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Perform layout, cutting, fitting, welding, and grinding of steel components
- Erect and install stair systems on job sites, ensuring proper alignment and safety
- Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely (saws, drills, welders, forklifts, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Qualifications
- Experience fabricating and/or erecting structural steel stairs
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings
- Welding experience (MIG preferred; certification a plus)
- Familiarity with structural steel fabrication tools and methods
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work on ladders, lifts, or at heights
- Strong work ethic and willingness to travel when required
Preferred (Not Required)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with ornamental or architectural steel stairs
