This position is a member of our Air Monitoring Division .
Here’s What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee activities related to laboratory operations, quality assurance, laboratory inspection, and audit functions. Formulate, plan, and organize section activities, including the development of annual work plans and goals.
- Hire, manage, and appraise the performance of Laboratory & Quality Assurance Section staff; oversee staff development and activities, including technical and leadership training.
- Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure program activities are implemented and completed in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the agency strategic planning process. Participate in evaluating new initiatives (federal or state) and proposed legislation as it impacts division and agency operations.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supervising and/or leading professional and/or technical staff, including performing personnel management functions.
- Experience overseeing staff that perform laboratory analyses experience performing quality assurance/quality control activities and/or performing laboratory accreditation evaluations.
- Experience communicating complex technical or regulatory information with other state/federal agencies, elected officials, the regulated community, or the public.
- Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to assignment.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
