Here’s What You’ll Be Doing
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications
Texas Professional Engineer's license plus five years of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure. Qualifying work experience includes obtained post licensure as an engineering graduate student or teacher.
OR
Career ladder progression
One year of full-time experience at TCEQ as an Engineer V.
CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Engineer VI state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Engineer VI series.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and coordinate all phases of highly advanced and/or managerial engineering work in accordance with Superfund Section guidelines.
- Oversee contracts/work orders to achieve corrective action at Superfund Section sites.
- Communicate with internal staff, the public, contractors, and other governmental entities. Represent the agency at technical functions, seminars, and meetings.
- Update databases and maintain project files.
- Experience working with Superfund statutes and regulations.
- Experience with project management, work orders/contracts, and/or budgets.
- Experience working with technical and regulatory material, procedures, and/or policies relevant to contaminant remediation and/or Superfund .
