This position is a member of our Coastal East Texas Division.
Heres What Youll Be Doing
Respond to complex spill and emergency response incidents, conducts highly advanced investigations, make recommendations for restoration of affected environments, and conduct follow-up investigations.
Prepare, complete, and review reports related to complex spill/emergency response work and remediation plans; make recommendations regarding cleanup findings performed by third parties.
Provide highly advance technical assistance to the public, regulated community, responsible parties, agency staff, and other interested groups; assist in developing emergency response procedures; participate in response meetings and drills; and prepare technical papers for presentations.
Operate, maintain, and calibrate various monitoring instruments; conduct specialized sampling activities and evaluate analytical results for compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications: EDUCATION EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Environmental Investigator III
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field generally preferred, but not required; plus, two years of full-time experience in environmental activities.
OR
A masters degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus one year of the required experience.
OR
A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in in the degrees listed above.
OR
Six years of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities.
OR
Two years of full-time TCEQ experience as an Environmental Investigator II.
Environmental Investigator IV
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field generally preferred, but not required; plus, five years of full-time experience in environmental activities.
OR
A masters degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus four years of the required experience.
OR
A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus three years of the required experience.
OR
Nine years of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities.
OR
Three years of full-time TCEQ experience as an Environmental Investigator III.

Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Coastal East Texas Division.
