See details about what we do.This position is a member of our Water Quality Division.HEREand#8217;S WHAT YOUand#8217;LL BE DOINGAdminister the plans and specifications review and approval of domestic publicly and privately-owned treatment works in accordance with 30 TAC Chapter 217, by independently performing engineering analyses of designed wastewater treatment and collection systems. Provides guidance and direction to others.
Participate in administering the beneficial reuse program, in accordance with 30 TAC Chapters 210 and 321P, by performing engineering and technical analyses of submitted authorization applications for the beneficial reuse of treated wastewater.
Participate and support the technical administration of the water quality homeland security program.
Communicate with TCEQ management, agency staff, the regulated community, the general public, and elected officials regarding the plans and specifications program, the beneficial reuse program, homeland security, and other engineering related programs. Gives presentations, provides management briefings, provides technical input, and represents the Division in various public and TCEQ forums.
Provide highly complex technical expertise to management on engineering related matters, including evaluation of technical information in permit applications. Prepare engineering analyses and recommendations for division-wide technical issues. Evaluates state and federal rules, policies, publications, and guidance.
Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCEEngineer IIITexas Professional Engineer's license plus two years of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure.Qualifying work experience includes that obtained post licensure as an engineering graduate student or teacher.Career Ladder Progression: One year of full-time experience at TCEQ as an Engineer II.Engineer IVTexas Professional Engineer's license plus three years of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure.Qualifying work experience includes that obtained post licensure as an engineering graduate student or teacher.Career Ladder Progression: One year of full-time experience at TCEQ as an Engineer III.Engineer VTexas Professional Engineer's license plus four years of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure.Qualifying work experience includes that obtained post licensure as an engineering graduate student or teacher.Career Ladder Progression: One year of full-time experience at TCEQ as an Engineer IV.Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility.
