See details about what we do.This position is a member of our San Angelo regional staff.HEREand#8217;S WHAT YOUand#8217;LL BE DOINGPrepare and disseminate information of public interest concerning various agency programs and services. Respond to routine inquiries and addresses basic questions. Assist walk-in customers and maintains literature and brochures in the public reading/access area. Answer and screen telephone calls, take messages, and refer calls to appropriate staff.
Distribute incoming mail. Prepare incoming and outgoing mail and other routine or special correspondence/shipments including reports, and/or documents, samples, and field equipment. Perform complex typing and/or word processing. Make copies of documents and/or report for the region before mailing.
Maintain database, file, and record to track information and to prepare queries and/or reports. Work closely with the Records Administrator to ensure compliance with Agency policies regarding records retention, storage, access, and destruction.
Provide support with fleet and maintenance activities/operations to include updating the Texas Fleet System database and the regionand#8217;s maintenance spreadsheet. Assist the cashier with endorsing and depositing checks.KEY QUALIFICATIONSExperience using Microsoft Office Suite (includes Word and Excel and Outlook), and/or database software.
Experience maintaining filing systems.
Experience answering multi-line phone systems; and/or screening or routing telephone calls.
Experience communicating with the public.
Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCEGraduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus one year of full-time experience providing administrative and/or clerical support in an office setting.Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of the required experience.TRANSCRIPT/ COLLEGE HOURS or COURSE WORK:See instructionson how to attach documents. A copy of your official college transcript or evaluation of foreign credentials in CAPPS is required if needed to meet the qualifications listed above.CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEESThis position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within theAdministrative Assistant III-IVstate classification.
