This position is a member of our Water Availability Division.
Heres What Youll Be Doing
Assist with the review of data to ensure administrative completeness; process daily certifications, pump operation reports, water account adjustments, and complete data entry related to these items. Answer and redirect telephone calls for the Rio Grande Watermaster program and respond to general program inquiries from the public.
Prepare and process the monthly report for the Rio Grande Watermaster Program. Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of monthly reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Prepare management reports; process contracts for water and temporary permits in Texas Watermaster Accounting System (TXWAS); update water right files and TXWAS data to reflect status of centralized water right records; and process all incoming and outgoing mail for the program. Respond to public inquiries; research ownership records of water right holders, complaints related to ownership issues, research possible amendment to water right.
Participate in special projects, to include coordinating with section staff to review water right permits for administrative completeness. Provide administrative support related to the Watermaster Advisory Committee.
Key Qualifications
Experience maintaining databases to include data entry, report generation, record keeping, and/or filing systems.
Experience working Watermaster programs and/or State of Texas water rights.
Experience conducting administrative tasks (include experience writing and/or preparing reports, manuals, or correspondence.).
Bilingual speaking in English and Spanish.
Experience using Word, Excel, and/or database software.
Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus one year of full-time experience providing administrative and/or clerical support in an office setting.
Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of the required experience.

Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Harlingen Region Office.
