Position: Medical Scribe
Work Location: Willow Park, TX
Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and Friday 8 AM-12 PM
Reports To: Practice Manager; Office Supervisor

Position Summary:
Medical Scribes are trained in medical documentation to support physicians during clinic hours. The primary goal is to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the physician by handling all documentation needs, allowing them to focus on patient care.
The role involves managing electronic health records (EHR), documenting patient interactions, patient chart prep, and performing related clerical tasks. Medical Scribes must maintain discretion, organizational skills, and the ability to anticipate the physician's needs to ensure a smooth clinic workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation of Medical Visits and Procedures:
- Record patient medical histories and physical exams.
- Document procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals.
- Capture patient education, explanations, risks, and benefits as provided by the physician.
- Transcribe physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions, and self-care instructions.
- Prepare referral letters as directed by the physician.
Clerical and Administrative Tasks:
- Handle dictation, faxing, phone calls, and other clerical responsibilities.
- Ensure referral letters and related documentation are promptly prepared and faxed.
- Research and manage contact information for referring physicians.
Accuracy and Compliance:
- Identify and correct documentation errors while ensuring accuracy in medical records.
- Alert physicians to incomplete charts and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, including HIPAA.
- Record clinical data, lab results, and physician interpretations accurately.
- Assist in tracking patient follow-up and compliance.
Training and Development:
- 2-3 weeks of paid onsite training
Qualifications:
- Experience: 1 year of scribing experience is required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new processes and technology.
- Good judgment and self-motivation are essential.
Compensation:
- Pay: $15.00–$17.00 per hour
