For more information about joining our team, please visit us at www.texascapitalbank.com. The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for overseeing Texas Capital's internal audit function. This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The position provides independent and objective assurance to the Audit Committee and senior management on the effectiveness of internal controls and governance processes. Strategic Leadership Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit strategy aligned with the company’s objectives. Lead the development of the annual audit plan and present it to the Audit Committee for approval. Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization. Audit Execution & Oversight Oversee the planning and execution of financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits. Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions. Risk Management & Compliance Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management frameworks. Identify emerging risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with SOX and other relevant regulatory requirements. Reporting & Communication Prepare and present high-quality reports to the Audit Committee and executive leadership. Communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations clearly and effectively. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on governance and control matters. Team Leadership & Development Build and lead a high-performing internal audit team. Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and ethical work environment. Qualifications Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field highly preferred CPA, CIA, or other relevant certifications Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in internal audit, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Experience in a publicly traded financial services or fintech company is highly desirable Deep understanding of audit methodologies, risk management, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, COSO) Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams Strategic thinker with strong business acumen High ethical standards and integrity Proficiency in audit software and data analytics tools (ACL, IDEA) Experience with digital transformation and automation in audit processes The duties listed above are the essential functions, or fundamental duties within the job classification.
