What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing and Development Administrative Assistant position at Texas Baptist Home for Children?
TBHC is a child placing agency that serves foster children and supports foster/adoptive families throughout the DFW area. We are a Christian agency whose purpose is to: Glorify God by Caring for Children.
TBHC is seeking an individual who is highly detail-oriented, possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills and is proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Our Marketing and Development Administrative Assistant is responsible for accurate donor data entry, directing all calls and mail, as well as assisting the Development Department in interacting with the donors and community.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of Administrative Assistant experience is preferred.
Schedule
- Desiring someone who can commit at least 30 hours each week
- Flexible Schedule between 8am-5pm
- Monday-Thursday (Closed on Fridays; only special events will require some Fridays)
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Answer the telephone and take messages for TBHC and become proficient in the phone system
- Answer the door and follow the security protocol for visitors on campus.
- Receive and sort mail or deliveries and deliver to staff when necessary.
- Maintain records, send thank you notes, and coordinate the intake & distribution of In-Kind donations.
- Daily enter donations into the database; print and mail receipts quarterly
- Complete inventory and organization of TBHC office supplies.
- Actively clean the database of any duplicate or inactive donors.
- Coordinate Christmas wish lists with Foster Parents and donors.
- Maintain a monthly building use & training calendar for all TBHC facilities/branch locations.
- Assist the Development department as needed i.e., editing publications, assisting with planning events and representing TBHC at events.
