GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Facilities and Asset Management Division is seeking a Clerk whose work will involve advanced receiving, stock and warehouse work for the Office of the Attorney General's Facilities and Asset Management Division. Work involves inventory management from the time inventory enters the warehouse to the time if leaves. Performs clerical work and/or routine receiving work to include compiling and tabulating data, checking invoices for accuracy, handling and transporting documents, stock, and inventory, maintaining receiving files, and physically unboxing and relocating received items.The OAG is a dynamic state agency with over 4,000 employees throughout the State of Texas. Answers inquiries regarding policies and procedures, assists vendors and staff in filling out forms, and provides information by email or phone.
Reviews, edits, and reconciles discrepancies in reports, purchase orders, correspondence, summaries, manuals, vouchers, journals, ledgers, requisitions, records, and related forms associated with agency orders.
Performs quality control checks to confirm items received are the correct items, in good condition, and in the stated quantities.
Reviews and edits information on agency records and recommends modification of forms or records.
Reviews data entry, data retrieval, and data searches.
Review and verify the goods received against both purchase orders and purchase requisitions (if necessary) by using the Centralized Accounting and
Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS) financial system for financial transactions.
Performs routine filing of and maintenance of electronic paper records and files pertaining to the receipt of agency purchases.
Operates heavy duty truck, lift gate, forklift, pallet jack, dollies, and other equipment.
Utilizes methods for safe handling and transit of commodities.
Performs warehouse work.
May assist with maintenance and repair projects as needed.
May assist with agency projects including modular furniture reconfigurations and office moves, and asset management, including data entry, document review, and other projects as needed.
May assist Supply Operations with order fulfillment and stock control.
Complies with all applicable security and safety rules, regulations and standards.
Performs related work as assigned
Maintains Relevant Knowledge Necessary To Perform Essential Job Functions
Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule
Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduation from high school or equivalent
Experience: One year of experience in a materials management field (purchasing, receiving, inventory management, property management or other related experience), may substitute thirty credit hours from an accredited vocational program, college, or university for the required experience
Knowledge of office procedures; of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and arithmetic; of business or program terminology, methods, and procedures; of warehousi g procedures; of state purchasing policies and procedures; and of records administration and maintenance techniques and procedures
Valid Texas Driverand#8217;s License and a good driving record
Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
Ability to lift and relocate a minimum of 50 pounds
Ability to identify computer hardware
Ability to prepare and maintain records, files, and reports; to transfer stock from one location to another; to make arithmetic computations, to communicate effectively; and to train others
Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel
Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
