Location/Schedule: College Station, TX/Full-Time; This position may require a flexible schedule for evening and weekend work for outreach and/or crisis response.

Required Education And Experience
- Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners for Professional Counselors, Social Workers, or Marriage and Family Therapists.
- Successful completion of relevant practicum/internship training as required by the Texas Behavior Health Executive Council.
- Must be a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-A), or Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)
- Must be independently licensed in the state of Texas within 3 years of employment.
- Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining licensure.
- Experience in a University or College counseling center.
- Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessment.
- Experience in providing outreach and mental health education.
- Ability to provide clinical counseling in more than one language utilized by A&M students.
- Training in evidence-based practices and/or related areas of specialization.
Clinical Services & Consultation
- Provides counseling and crisis intervention to individuals, couples and groups.
- Engages in case management, referrals, and discharge planning.
- Assist students in completing paperwork and navigating scheduling
- Under supervision, assesses clients, creates care plan, and provides appropriate treatment services and referrals.
- Delivers mental health related outreach, presentations, workshops to students, faculty, and staff.
- Provides consultation to faculty, staff, students, and families regarding student’s mental health and well-being.
- Provides adjunct supervision/training of psychology and counseling practicum students.
- At times of high student need, flexes schedule to provide additional clinical services including appointments, outreach, crisis, and other duties as needed.
- Participates in departmental, division and university committees, meetings and special initiatives.
- Assists with organizational and administrative tasks, as requested.
- Meets ethical obligations for timely documentation of counseling services per State of Texas licensure requirements and University Health Services policies.
- Supports clinical operations through organizational and administrative tasks related to client care.
- Until fully licensed, participates in weekly supervision including review of recorded sessions and cases.
- Until fully licensed, consults with licensed professionals when appropriate between scheduled supervision meetings.
- Until fully licensed, must consult with licensed professionals to manage complex, crisis, and moderate or high-risk situations.
- Provides adjunct supervision/training of psychology and counseling practicum students
- Per state licensure requirements, participates in continuing education and professional development activities related to the performance of job functions, emerging trends in college mental health and maintenance of skills in one’s professional specialty area.
- Maintains currency of practice through professional literature review, organizational research and evaluation activities, and shares with peers. Provides professional presentations as appropriate.
