Job TitleProgram Coordinator I Agency Texas A&M University at Galveston Department Academic Enhancement Proposed Minimum Salary$3,194.84 monthly Job LocationGalveston, Texas Job TypeStaff Job Description Job Description Summary The Program Coordinator, under general supervision, will provide training and development for Academic Services student employees as well as plan, develop, and implement program events such as seminars and workshops, communicate with stakeholders, maintains program records and databases, identify funding opportunities, and evaluate and assist with student employee hiring. Specifically, this position supports communication, training, and programs related to student success initiatives. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience: Two years of experience working in an educational or library setting. Preferred Education: None. Preferred Experience: Experience related to communications, training activities and events, especially in a higher educational setting. Required Licenses and Certifications: None. Preferred Licenses and Certifications: None. Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to develop training programs and work collaboratively across campus hiring departments. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Multi-media experience to create tutorials and training modules. Job Responsibilities 40% Student Employee Training and Development Develop and implement training materials and processes for student employees in the Center for Academic Learning Services (Coaching & Peer Mentors), Content Support, Library, Writing and Studio Assistants, and others as developed. Oversee the intake process including FERPA, Navigate training, Title IX, Information security, diversity modules and any cross-department requirements. Coordinate performance evaluation process. Enhance professional development for students including marketable skills training modules. Conduct division wide student worker meetings (one or two per long semesters). 25% Support Student Success Communications and Operations Support functional leaders in academic services and leadership to coordinate and disseminate student success communications in their respective program areas. This may include website designs and updates, campus calendar liaison, online communications, campus announcements., emergency operations, and coordination with the campus student app. 25% Special Events & Programs Plans and implements program events such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, examinations, workshops and retreats. All are related to student success initiatives. Planning includes all supporting logistics and arrangements in collaboration with the functional areas. In general, these programs are related to student success such as advising council support, first generation programs, hullabaloo U training events. 8% Maintain Navigate Security and Access 2%: Other Duties Performs other duties as assigned. No. Employees Supervised: None. Machines or equipment used in the performance of essential duties: Computer, 15 hours per week. Other Requirements or Other Factors: Possibility of non-standard work hours/workdays to accommodate student scheduling needs for training. May travel to conferences. Preferred Other Factors: None.
