This position is located onsite in College Station, Texas

The Assistant Director of Development for the Division of Student Affairs serves as a frontline fundraising professional advancing the Texas A&M Foundation’s philanthropic priorities in support of Student Affairs. This role works closely with Student Affairs leadership, university partners, donors, and Foundation colleagues to execute fundraising strategies that enhance the student experience and support the division’s mission of fostering student success, engagement, leadership development, well-being, and belonging.

This position is based on site in College Station, fostering strong collaboration with campus partners while supporting donor engagement across Texas and beyond. The Assistant Director of Development is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with donors and prospects to secure philanthropic support for scholarships, student programs, initiatives, facilities, and strategic priorities within the Division of Student Affairs.

What You'll Do...

Role

As the Assistant Director of Development – Division of Student Affairs, you will serve as an ambassador of the Texas A&M Foundation and Student Affairs by aligning donor interests with institutional priorities. In this role, you will:

• Develop and implement fundraising plans aligned with Student Affairs' priorities and the Foundation’s advancement goals.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects in support of student-focused programs, scholarships, leadership initiatives, wellness programs, and strategic projects.
• Partner closely with Student Affairs leadership and campus stakeholders to identify philanthropic opportunities and translate departmental needs into compelling cases for support.
• Lead stewardship efforts to ensure donors feel valued, informed, and connected to the impact of their philanthropy.
• Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects through ongoing engagement and personalized outreach.
• Collaborate with Foundation colleagues to ensure coordinated donor strategies, data integrity, and alignment across fundraising efforts.
• Represent the Texas A&M Foundation and the Division of Student Affairs at donor meetings, events, and campus initiatives.
• Support major gift fundraising activities and assist with the development and execution of donor engagement strategies designed to increase philanthropic support.

What We Require...

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in fundraising, development, sales, alumni relations, higher education, nonprofit advancement, or another relationship-driven field.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, campus partners, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of the Texas A&M Foundation and the Division of Student Affairs.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to advance fundraising and engagement efforts.
  
  

We'd Love to Find Someone With...

• Master's degree.
• Experience in higher education, student affairs, nonprofit development, alumni relations, or advancement.
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, or stewarding donors, clients, or strategic partners.
• Familiarity with Texas A&M University and its student-focused programs and initiatives.
• Demonstrated success in relationship management, sales, business development, fundraising, or community engagement.
