Job Description

The Project Manager working for Manufacturing Workforce Initiatives, manages and delivers project activities including developing, implementing, tracking budgets, tracking timelines and deliverables, and providing periodic evaluations and reports for projects to deliver high quality and cost-effective solutions in alignment with strategic goals and objectives.

Assists with highly confidential and critical academic and/or administrative matters. Provides intermediate project management support to deliver projects within the established budget and timeline. Exercises discretion and independent judgement with respect to maters of significance. The Project Manager will provide professional assistance and project management support to maintain facility operations and deliver projects within the established budget and timeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages projects ensuring the mission, vision, and critical business requirements are met. Establish and execute project work plans, goals, objectives, measures, schedules, risk assessments and timelines.
  • Drafts and manages correspondence and communications, schedules appointments, manages calendar, and coordinates travel. Prepares travel arrangements and itineraries.
  • Manages project quality control and assurance. May have minor links to other projects.
  • Facilitates meetings and communicate with stakeholders, project team, and management to guide and provide updates on project activities. Manages project quality control and assurance. Review and update scopes and timelines if needed.
  • Support for special events, meetings or other special functions. Provides on-site support for long-range planning and scheduling activities.
  • Performs advanced program and project development, disseminates project information, and serves as an active participant in project related work groups and committees. Provides recommendations to achieve goals.
  • Manage and monitor project funds. Prepare status reports and presentations. Meet budgetary objectives and adjust to project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Review deliverables prepared. Enforce project standards to minimize exposure and risks. Ensure project decisions are documented and accountable.
  • Prepares agendas for meetings, documents key decisions, collaborates with team members to develop project collateral, and creates presentations.
  • Writes and disseminates work plans and project documents to include procedures, proposals, progress reports, and presentations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What we need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Seven years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to present to large crowds.
  • Agile to manage multiple different projects at once.

The Workforce Development Division of Texas A&M Engineering will be the premier provider of programs, conferences, professional development, and educational opportunities to prepare experts, employees and advocates for STEM-related fields.
