The Opportunity

Tetra Tech is seeking professional, motivated, and intelligent candidates to fill a Sr Project Manager position in Hawaii to support Tetra Tech’s current and future work in the Indo-Pacific region, primarily for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and related clients. This is a seller-doer position that will require the successful candidate to support strategic planning, business development, capture, and project execution of contracts throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

At Tetra Tech, our Global Services Design Team provides comprehensive architecture and engineering solutions for U.S. government clients worldwide. We specialize in facility and utility planning, design, and construction services throughout the project lifecycle. One of our key clients is the U.S. Department of Defense. Our projects range from full design and construction support for military base expansions and improvements to critical infrastructure such as airfield pavements, roadways, water and wastewater systems, and power and communications networks, as well as headquarters, operations, housing, warehouses, and other mission support facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new client accounts and work with existing Tetra Tech account managers and market sector leaders to expand the client base
  • Prepare proposals, support projects, and perform technical work as necessary, balancing sales and utilization
  • Develop and implement growth strategies to increase client base for a broad range of integrated services including environmental, climate change, resiliency, planning, engineering, munitions, geospatial, and construction management services
  • Identify, develop, and nurture strategic partnerships with other businesses to support DoD programs in the region
  • Provide local knowledge, leadership, and subject matter expertise in an area of focus to support projects and client needs
  • Meet with key clients and potential clients to share Tetra Tech’s capabilities and foster stronger client relationships. Grow trust in the brand with key clients and potential clients
  • Work collaboratively with other experts in numerous locations across Tetra Tech's broad geography in the Pacific Region
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Professional registration (PE, RA, PG, PMP, etc) is preferred
  • Knowledge of the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or other US Federal organizations is required
  • Knowledge and experience working with governmental organizations and decision-makers in the Indo-Pacific region is required
  • DOD Security Clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance is preferred
  • Experience interacting with senior DoD and regional governmental leaders is preferred.
  • Willingness to participate in short-term international travel as needed
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to team projects
  • Due to the clients we serve, this position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence Card
  • Must be able to pass background screening including criminal history, credit check etc
  • Ability to drive on an occasional basis for business purposes is preferred. To do this, you will need a valid driver’s license, pass a motor vehicle record check, and maintain a safe driving record.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related field is required, Master’s degree is preferred
  • Ten (10) years of experience supporting architecture/engineering/construction industry and execution of projects within the Pacific Region
  • 5 years project management experience is preferred
  • 3 years experience with business development, strategic planning, and proposal writing is preferred.

However, occasionally travel and onsite work maybe required which could require lifting 25 pounds of documents or equipment, traversing uneven terrain during site visits, standing long periods of time at public meetings.

That can be work from a home office or in a Tetra Tech office. However, there are occasional requirements to make site visits to client sites. This requires the ability to perform work in an office environment or outdoors while conducting data gathering site visits, participating in on-site meetings, and attending conferences or other training and business development activities off-site.

Language & Communication Skills

  • Must be fluent in the English language, reading, writing, and speaking
  • Must possess excellent writing capabilities and have experience generating proposals/project deliverables suitable for submittal to clients
  • Is expected to make verbal presentations including corporate qualification, short list interviews with clients, and strategic plans to corporate stakeholders.

Other Skills

Fluency with computer software including knowledge of primary Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, TEAMS, and Outlook) is required.

Additional Information

  • Employment Type. The position is full time regular, 40 hours per week. Additional paid overtime is available with manager approval
  • Work Schedule. Standard office hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm including an unpaid thirty minute lunch break.
  • Work Location. The work location is Hawaii.
  • Remote or Hybrid. This position has the option to work from home five days per week or hybrid in the Tetra Tech Honolulu, Hawaii office in accordance with Tetra Tech's Remote Work Policy
  • Salary and Benefits. The salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000.
