Position Summary
The CAD Designer supports transportation and infrastructure projects by preparing, revising, and managing construction drawings and related documentation. This position works closely with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure drawings meet client, regulatory, and company standards while contributing to timely and successful project delivery.

This position works closely with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure drawings meet client, regulatory, and company standards while contributing to timely and successful project delivery.
Essential Job Functions

- Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to set up, prepare, and manage construction drawings.
- Prepare dimensional drawings and create or modify base drawings.
- Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes.
- Create and manage electronic document file structures and naming conventions in accordance with company and client standards.
- Prepare project documents from project initiation through completion with professional-quality output.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously to successful completion.
- Apply and follow applicable CAD standards, including client-specific or Tetra Tech standards.
- Develop drawings that meet or exceed customer requirements during bid and submittal phases.
- Associate degree in CAD Drafting or a related field from a technical trade school, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proven experience using CAD platforms for civil drawings in compliance with client standards.
- Proficiency working with feature lines, grading objects, survey points, profiles, surfaces, and pipe networks.
- Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam or similar PDF tools.
- Experience generating layout drawings from sketches and specifications.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.
- Ability to perform light physical activity, including occasional standing, walking, and lifting of light office materials.
- Frequent use of computer hardware, CAD software, and office equipment.
- Primarily office-based environment with standard business hours.
- Moderate noise levels typical of an office setting.
- Occasional collaboration in meeting rooms or project workspaces.
- Full-time position based in Brighton, MI.
- Standard business hours with flexibility based on project needs.
- Limited travel may be required depending on project assignments.
