What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Assistant Supervisor position at Teton Valley Hospital?
The Clinical Assistant Supervisor participates as an active team member in a clinical assistant role while overseeing the day-to-day operations of TVHC’s clinical assistants. The Clinical Assistant Supervisor is responsible for such duties as hiring, orientation, training, scheduling and progressive discipline of TVHC employees, in conjunction with the Clinic Director. The Clinical Assistant Supervisor ensures Clinic protocols are adhered to as well as TVHC policies.
Job Description:
· Oversees and is accountable for the efficient day to day operations of the Clinics, scheduling sufficient, competent Clinical Assistants.
· Works up to 50% of the time as a clinical assistant with the flexibility to cover shifts as needed. See Clinical Assistant job description addendum.
· Works with HR to post, advertise and select new employees for hire as well as discipline and terminations as needed and under the review and approval of the Clinic Director.
· Participates in conjunction with the Clinic Director in the evaluation process of the clinical assistants.
· Oversees clinical assistant training and competencies which includes monthly in-services.
· Be flexible to assist clinical assistant staff during and after hours as available.
· Is responsible for ensuring facility wide updates and announcements are communicated to all clinical staff.
· Become an EMR super user, be able to troubleshoot issues, facilitate resolutions with the vendor and communicating any changes in processes to all clinical staff.
· Reviews and approves time cards, PTO requests and status changes.
· Attends morning huddles and or delegates as needed.
· Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and appropriate licensing/accrediting agencies.
· Establishes, maintains, and monitors an effective quality assurance program.
· Has basic knowledge of the budget process to assure the clinics run in an economical and efficient manner.
· Coordinates with Materials Management regarding inventory, potential savings, new supplies or vendors.
· Maintains an effective, professional relationship with the medical staff, other departments and administration.
