What To Expect
We are a small team of experts focused on creating the next-generation server-side infrastructure for Tesla. We're the invisible link connecting every Tesla product, whether it's vehicles, robots, robotaxis, chargers or even mobile apps to bring customers the best user experience possible. We're looking for strong, hands on, technical leader with domain expertise in one or more of: containers, public clouds, or private clouds.

Today, over 10 million Tesla users rely on our services to safely and securely interact with their cars on a daily basis - features enabled by one of the many over-the-air updates we've delivered to the Tesla vehicle fleet. Tesla engineering relies on our data and analytics platform to make Tesla products better and safer. And, when an owner needs assistance, Tesla service and support rely on our applications to understand and respond to the situation. We are applying fleet learning to dispatch and deliver real-time road conditions to millions of autonomous vehicles, match riders to robotaxis and dispatch rides.

Join us and you will work alongside world-class software and data engineers on some of the newest and most challenging IoT and service engineering problems in the world today. The platform you help us build and automate will be used will be the corner stone of the next wave of autonomous and cheap transportation worldwide.

What You'll Do

  • Design and write software that enables rapid prototyping by development teams, while ensuring the highest levels of reliability and availability
  • Automate the build and deployment of infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes & other orchestration technologies in a hybrid-cloud environment
  • Experience setting up and supporting CI/CD platforms
  • Drive the migration of large-scale, distributed fleet applications towards cloud environments
  • Influence architectural decisions with focus on security, scalability and high-performance
  • Experience with troubleshooting and full-cycle incident response (mitigation, correction, prevention)
  • Influence application teams with k8s native application architecture and help improve automation & reliability across vehicle software teams


  • What You'll Bring

  • 7 years building and maintaining SaaS infrastructure through automation
  • Expert skills with Linux, networking, storage or virtualization automation with tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Chef (or other)
  • Setting up and supporting CI/CD platforms
  • Proficiency in a high-level language like Python, Go, Ruby and/or Java
  • Experience scaling through data-driven capacity planning, within physical data centers or Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure)

  • Expected Compensation

    $140,000 - $312,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
