What To Expect
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager with deep vehicle insurance claims expertise to lead the development of products and tools that drive Tesla's internal claims process. In this role, you will combine your claims industry knowledge with product management skills to build solutions that optimize the end-to-end claims lifecycle, reduce processing times, and improve customer outcomes. Your understanding of claims operations, damage assessment, and settlement processes will be critical in defining requirements and delivering products that revolutionize how Tesla handles vehicle insurance claims.

What You'll Do

  • Define and document product requirements for claims management systems and tools, leveraging deep understanding of the claims lifecycle from first notice of loss through settlement
  • Partner with Engineering, Design, and Claims Operations teams to develop products that streamline claims intake, damage assessment, appraisal, and settlement processes
  • Apply hands-on claims expertise to identify pain points in current claims workflows and translate operational needs into innovative product solutions
  • Develop products that optimize coordination between claims handlers, collision repair facilities, appraisers, and customers throughout the repair process while also capturing claims data, fraud detection and loss trends
  • Create product roadmaps focused on improving key claims metrics including cycle time, settlement accuracy, customer satisfaction, and loss ratios
  • Collaborate with Claims Operations teams to understand their daily workflows, challenges, and requirements for managing vehicle damage claims effectively
  • Develop products that ensure compliance with insurance regulations and claims handling best practices across different jurisdictions
  • Stay current on claims industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into Tesla's claims products


  • What You'll Bring

  • Define product requirements for claims management systems covering the full claims lifecycle from first notice of loss through settlement
  • Requires 5 years auto insurance claims operations experience (hands-on claims handling, damage assessment) 2 years product management experience
  • Partner with Engineering, Design, and Claims Operations to streamline intake, damage assessment, appraisal, settlement, and repair coordination processes
  • Translate operational pain points and claims workflows into innovative product solutions that improve cycle time, settlement accuracy, customer satisfaction, and loss ratios
  • Deep expertise required in claims lifecycle including coverage analysis, liability determination, damage appraisal, and settlement processes
  • Strong understanding of insurance regulations, claims compliance requirements, and best practices across different jurisdictions
  • Bridge communication between claims operations teams and technical engineering teams with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Develop products for fraud detection, loss trends analysis, and coordination with collision repair facilities and appraisers
  • Insurance designations (CPCU, AIC, AIS), electric vehicle claims experience, and knowledge of ML applications in claims processing is preferred
  • Stay current on claims industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into product roadmaps is preferred

  • Expected Compensation

    $136,000 - $264,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
