Sr. Manager, Production Control

What To Expect
Tesla is recruiting for an experienced Production Control (PC), Sr. Manager to join our Gigafactory team and manage day-to-day operations in Buffalo, NY. The successful candidate will oversee inbound material flow (dock-to-line), outbound finished goods flow (line-to-yard), warehousing and conveyance equipment, delivery operations, inventory control, and trailer yard operations. The Sr. PC Manager will lead a team of leaders, engineers, and technicians across multiple shifts at a 24/7 facility. In this role, the Sr. PC Manager works together with Production, Engineering and Planning as well as NPI, inbound and outbound Logistics and the downstream customers to ensure overall success of Tesla.

What You'll Do

Manage daily operations of material flow to the line, and finished goods outbound to the customers

Govern, and ensure core KPI targets are met in safety, quality, productivity, cost and delivery

Ensure on-time delivery of parts and material to the manufacturing lines and outbound shipments to customers

Manage warehouse inventory and material flow processes to optimal levels and drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy

Lead efforts to optimize space and manpower, while ensuring downstream customer satisfaction

Assertively solve daily problems by applying Tesla problem-solving methodology to identify root causes, drive countermeasures and prevent repeat issues

Develop strategic partnerships with production and functional leadership to influence positive change across the Megafactory site

Lead and develop a technical team, including engineers and technicians, for the purposes of maintaining fixed/mobile conveyance, rack/returnable fleets, local PIT and semi truck production control equipment

Lead continuous improvement activities, including rapid improvement events, to drive continuous improvements

Conduct daily safety, and process audits to ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance to standard work

What You'll Bring

7 years in a material handling, production control and/or warehouse distribution in a leadership role

Minimum requirement of 2 years as a PC Manager in a high volume, automated manufacturing facility or high scale, automated logistics operation

Experience in warehouse management, inventory management, internal conveyance, and yard flow

Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Finance, Global Supply Chain and Logistics

Ability to maintain a safe work environment by establishing and enforcing operational standards and procedures

Proven ability to effectively lead and mentor people to achieve great things

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and proven ability to deploy lean concepts

Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills with effective strength in MS Office apps for data analysis and presentation

Manufacturing engineering experience required

Expected Compensation

Mgr Production Control - $126,000 - $189,000/annual salary

Sr Mgr Production Control - $147,600 - $221,400/annual salary

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
