New Product Introduction Supervisor

What To Expect
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Supervisor will lead a team of skilled NPI Engineering Technicians supporting product launches in Tesla’s Gigafactory New York, including solar and energy products - the things that make Tesla unique. The NPI Supervisor works with a diverse cross-functional team supporting every phase of Tesla’s product development lifecycle, including hand-building low volume engineering trials, executing extended product validation builds, validating equipment and process readiness for production launch, and training production teams as products launch.

Successful candidates will demonstrate superior leadership and communication skills; a background in low volume, high variability production; and an excellent work ethic.

What You'll Do

Build a strong, motivated team capable of consistently delivering high quality results against aggressive product development targets

Allocate NPI technicians across multiple sites, balancing competing priorities and technical requirements

Work cross-functionally with program teams to ensure aggressive project milestones are achieved

Develop hiring, training, and career progression plans for given team, while increasing individual skillsets

Ensure technicians meet build timelines and objectives

Drive high standards in Safety, Quality, Innovation, Collaboration, Teamwork, and Trustworthiness

Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations

What You'll Bring

5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment as well as 3 years of successfully managed teams in a technical environment

Experience in process development and equipment bring-up

Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles

Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)

Ability to develop and maintain performance metrics as well as excellent communication and organizational skills

Understanding of small volume, high variability manufacturing

Ability to command the english language both written and verbal

Expected Compensation

Supervisor Technical Support - $72,000 - $108,000/annual salary

cash and stock awards benefits for all levels

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
