What To Expect
The Failure Analysis Team’s mission is to determine root cause and contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla’s products by reducing field issues, in collaboration with a community of other engineering teams. Engineers and technicians on the team are responsible for a wide variety of vehicle and energy product systems for existing models and models in development. This extremely high visibility individual contributor role requires extensive hands-on work focused on CT scanning for electromechanical failure analysis and root cause activities.
In this role, you will operate CT/X-ray systems to diagnose failure modes in Tesla components. You will collaborate with engineering teams to validate imaging protocols for accuracy and repeatability across diverse product lines. This role requires documenting findings and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders while supporting lab safety and equipment calibration.

Learn to operate CT/X-ray systems to generate 3D models for defect analysis Validate imaging protocols for accuracy and repeatability across diverse product lines Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot defects Document findings and present actionable insights to stakeholders Support equipment calibration and lab safety protocols
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience 3 years of experience in CT/X-ray imaging or non-destructive testing preferred Proficiency in Avizo, VGStudio, or similar 3D reconstruction software is a huge plus Ability to lift 25 lbs for sample preparation and equipment setup Excellent verbal and written communication skills

$91,600 - $195,600/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
