The Test Systems Engineering (TSE) team consists of a unique blend of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers supported by a highly versatile Technician Team. Our team’s primary focus is to provide scalable internal test solutions for vehicle and energy sectors within Tesla. As an Engineering Technician on this team, you will be asked to perform a variety of build assembly and maintenance tasks. The environment is very fast-paced and requires a skilled & reliable individual, capable of working independently but who is also excited to collaborate with others to accomplish a common goal. As a result, said individual will also need strong written and verbal communication skills.
What You'll Do
Assist with maintenance on test equipment with the goal of reducing equipment downtime Ability to handle, with some direction, multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines Build mechanical structures small or large per provided documentation Build quality prototype wiring connections & harnesses when needed Capture & log fault findings, maintenance labor, or upgrade activities Identify safety and environmental concerns In collaboration with Engineers, assist with design by giving documented feedback of builds & operations of designed equipment Learn how to assemble TSE specific equipment and understand their functions Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in collaboration with Technician Team peers, as well as understand and follow safety and environmental regulations Perform light fabrication and assembly tasks, including operation of manual machining, common shop, power, and hand tools
What You'll Bring
3 years demonstrated hands-on work experience in a related field/environment Ability to lift 45 lbs. Ability to use hand-tools Experience working in a fast-paced workplace with excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills Strong mechanical assembly knowledge with experience troubleshooting equipment Willing to travel domestic and international when necessary Ability to create electrical harnesses & cabled connections preferred Ability to handle and dispose of hazardous materials (preferred but not necessary) Experience utilizing Jira, SharePoint, and Confluence (preferred but not necessary) Practical knowledge of CAN and LIN protocols (preferred but not necessary)

$24.40 - $56.40/hour benefits
