Embedded System Software Engineer, Vehicle Charging Interface

Tesla
Palo Alto, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 3/26/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 4/24/2026
What To Expect
Join a world-class team shaping the future of electric mobility by crafting the industry’s most advanced charging interfaces. You’ll engineer firmware that enables safe, seamless AC/DC charging, cutting-edge power sharing, and revolutionary V2X capabilities, setting new standards for reliability and performance. This is your chance to pioneer solutions that redefine how vehicles interact with energy ecosystems.

Drive innovation by developing real-time embedded software that bridges high/low-voltage systems, chargers, actuators, and grid infrastructure. Your work will enable bidirectional energy flow, unlocking broader V2X applications while ensuring rock-solid safety and user-centric design. Every line of code impacts charging efficiency, vehicle safety, and the evolution of smart energy networks.

Collaborate with top engineers across hardware, systems, and manufacturing to scale production-grade firmware using AI-driven tools and rigorous practices. Push boundaries in motor control, high-voltage safety, and global charging standards (CCS, ISO 15118, GB) across protocols like CAN, PLC, and 10BASE-T1S. Join us in developing the future of sustainable and seamless charging.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, enhance, and debug real-time embedded firmware in C for the Vehicle Charging Interface System
  • Deliver high-quality, safety-critical code in a production real-time embedded environment
  • Architect and implement firmware supporting bidirectional charging and V2X energy transfer
