What to Expect
In this role you will be responsible for installation on access control equipment and IP based video systems including but not limited to: electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless systems and intercom systems, PLC systems, VFD systems, PSP systems, FCU systems, PLC systems.
What You’ll Do
Installs electrical equipment and systems at Tesla Nevada, employing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
Performs Low Voltage cabling installations, covering New Commercial Data, Access Control, Fiber Optic, Fire Alarm Cable, and HVAC Cable
Installs Access control equipment, data equipment (e.g., data racks, patch panels, cable trays), and works with electronic control systems
Supports controls group in troubleshooting, upgrading, and new installations of systems
Consults manuals and interprets circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
Repairs and adjusts system components, including the removal and replacement of defective parts
Works on projects throughout the facility, utilizing lifts and ladders, and employs complex electrical schematics and blueprints for troubleshooting and correction
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience as a Site Support Technician or in a similar role
Proficient in installing j-hooks, ladder racks, and cable trays in IDF/MDF/MPOE environments
Skilled in using hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment for Low Voltage Cabling & Instrumentation and Controls
Able to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings
Strong troubleshooting knowledge of motor controls, drives, and electronic components
Capable of interpreting complex electrical prints and schematics for effective troubleshooting and correction
Versatile team player with strong interpersonal skills, high initiative, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively
