Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing blood from patients for various diagnostic, donation, and research purposes. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort. The Phlebotomist is a critical part of our healthcare team, ensuring the integrity of collected specimens and providing a positive experience for every patient.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood sampling with precision and care.
• Collect and process specimens according to established protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Monitor patients' vital signs before, during, and after the procedure to ensure their safety.
• Provide exceptional patient service by explaining procedures to patients and addressing any concerns.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow in the laboratory setting.
• Uphold all safety regulations and maintain compliance with medical terminology standards.

Skills

• Proficient in laboratory procedures and techniques relevant to phlebotomy.
• Strong clinical laboratory experience, particularly in specimen collection and processing.
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for effective patient care.
• Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and patient care practices.

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience is required, with 3 years in a hospital or clinical setting strongly preferred. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required, along with successful completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.

Certifications:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Phlebotomy Technician certification are mandatory. Current certification in phlebotomy is highly preferred. Key Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on delivering compassionate, patient-centered service. Must be highly accurate and able to work independently.
