- Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Swing Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Graveyard Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM

Job Summary
The Boiler Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment. You will ensure the facility receives a continuous and reliable supply of steam, heat, and hot water while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- System Management: Manage high-pressure steam boilers and auxiliary systems across three VA divisions.
- Operations: Monitor and operate boilers, pumps, fans, and water treatment systems. Adjust controls to maintain required steam pressure and water levels.
- Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning burners, replacing gaskets, and lubricating machinery.
- Water Chemistry: Conduct water sample testing and apply chemical treatments to prevent scale, corrosion, and impurities.
- Safety & Compliance: Perform regular inspections of relief valves and pressure gauges; maintain daily logs of fuel consumption, temperature, and pressure.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic malfunctions to prevent system downtime.
- Emergency Response: Respond immediately to equipment failures or alarms to ensure facility safety.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Licensing: Valid Boiler Operator License (High-Pressure or Low-Pressure as required).
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a boiler plant or central utility plant environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform strenuous work in confined spaces; comfortable with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial chemicals.
