Position: Quality Engineer
Summary:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting and improving quality systems at the plant level. This role will involve leading process improvements, supporting audits, and addressing both internal and customer quality issues. The position requires a hands-on approach to root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and continuous improvement, as well as strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in improvement projects, including Lean, Six Sigma, and T&OE initiatives.
- Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and develop robust corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing quality controls and establish new processes where gaps exist.
- Support global quality initiatives and align local efforts with companywide objectives.
- Track and report plant-level quality metrics, including Cost of Quality and Cost of Non-Quality, and identify areas for optimization.
- Prepare and complete ISIRs for new products, processes, and suppliers.
- Participate in PFMEAs for new product introductions.
- Conduct trend analysis and establish ongoing quality/manufacturing metrics.
- Support preparation and execution of ISO 9001 registration audits, internal audits, and regulatory/agency audits.
- Carry out additional projects or assignments as directed by the Plant Quality Supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing and quality engineering.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis techniques.
- Experience with measuring equipment and statistical concepts such as SPC, control charts, and process capability. Advanced statistical methods a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; experience with Minitab required. SolidWorks experience preferred.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
