As a Telecommunications Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring and coordinating the Secretary's and Deputy Secretary's communications to facilitate both secure and private voice, data, and video service; providing secure communications for the Secretary with the President and other national level leaders as circumstances dictate regardless of the Secretary's worldwide locations.

- Developing, testing, maintaining and deploying secure and non-secure IT and telecommunications systems in a fixed or mobile environment; AND

Responsibilities:
Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.As a Telecommunications Specialist, you will:
- Plan, organize, and direct studies to develop long-range (e.g., 5 years) studies and forecasts and advise top level agency telecommunications and subject-matter managers on applying new developments and advances in secure telecommunications techniques.
- Provide telecommunications expertise in estimating the installation, modification, maintenance, operation, and support of both existing and new telecommunications systems.
- Assimilate the view of multiple users and translate the outcome to the next higher level for conveyance to contractors and other federal government offices for equipment or software changes and/or redevelopment required to meet the unique needs of the Secretary's secure, worldwide deployable communications system.
- Serve as a technology liaison between the Treasury Secure Communications Team and all offices and departments interoperating with the Secretary's travel Telecommunication and IT systems (e.g., White House Military Office (WHMO), White House Communications Agency (WHCA), State Department and US Embassies, DHS National Operations Center, and the 89th Airlift Wing).
- Use initiative and judgment in researching and reviewing existing national policies and legislation and make recommendations for updates where necessary. (Presidential Policy Directive (PPD) 40 and OSTOMB-D-16-1).
- Participate in shift work as required, performing communications and other watch office duties as assigned. Responsible for procuring, planning, installing, coordinating, configuring, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and organizing all enterprise-wide and travel secure voice and video, routing and switching equipment and networks to include encryption hardware and software as well as documenting communications assets appropriately.
