  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

• Requirements:
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • DEA and NPI required.
  • Clean malpractice history or full disclosure.
  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

What does a typical day look like for the Ophthalmologist?

You will:

• Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Rotating call, at least one week per month.
  • On-call includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Direct Patient Care: estimated 95% of the time is involved in direct patient care.
  • Providing Ophthalmology services to patients.
  • Procedures to be expected:
    • Cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation
    • Minimally invasive glaucoma surgery
    • Pars plana vitrectomy.
    • Scleral fixated intraocular lens.
    • Intraocular lens exchange.
    • Glaucoma tube shunt implant.
• Administrative: estimated 5% of time not involved in direct patient care.
  • Attend meetings
  • Complete documentation

What qualifications do you look for?
