What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Terra State Community College?
The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and finalizes daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial processes, and prepares detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepares comprehensive presentations on financial data for the Vice President of Financial Affairs to present to the College's leadership and other relevant entities.
- Assists various departments in formulating their annual budgets, analyze financial data and suggest budget adjustments.
- Ensures the integrity and accuracy of monthly journal entries to the general and statistical ledgers.
- Coordinates and finalizes College’s audit and working papers and provides guidance for the College Foundation audit.
- Tracks and maintains compliance records for state capital projects.
- Tracks fixed assets, completes bank reconciliations, and various financial processes.
- Identifies and implements process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
