- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger management, account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and QuickBooks payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage financial reporting activities, including preparing accurate financial statements, balance sheet reconciliation, and regulatory filings.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts to support strategic planning and operational efficiency.
- Supervise internal controls related to cash management, account analysis, and technical accounting issues such as revenue recognition and complex transactions.
- Implement and maintain accounting software systems like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline financial processes.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure integrity in financial data and adherence to policies; oversee external audits as needed.
- Develop and enforce policies for non-profit or governmental accounting if applicable; ensure transparency in all financial activities.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong background in financial management and reporting.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or equivalent financial management tools.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Demonstrated ability in cash management, account reconciliation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent written communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and documentation.
- Experience with public accounting or regulatory reporting is highly desirable.
