The Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI) is seeking a meticulous and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Biomedical Research Laboratory. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our cutting-edge research initiatives and contributing to advancements in biomedical science.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trained to perform cutting-edge 3D culture, organ-on-a-chip, and animal experiments.
Collaborate with researchers and scientists to conduct laboratory experiments and procedures.
Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
Assist with sample collection, processing, and analysis following established protocols.
Accurately document experiments, record results, and maintain detailed notes.
Prepare solutions, reagents, and culture media as required.
Ensure a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a safe workspace.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
Prior experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within a research environment.
Familiarity with fundamental laboratory techniques, equipment, and protocols.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers-typing and/or writing
Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading
Occasional standing and walking
