Role Summary
The Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for deploying, managing, and supporting cloud-based imaging solutions within AWS environments. This role includes installation and configuration across Windows and Linux systems, monitoring cloud performance and uptime, maintaining and patching infrastructure, and optimizing cost and resource utilization.
The engineer will support customer implementations (remote and onsite), perform data migrations, validate system performance, and collaborate with third-party systems such as EMR, PACS, and VNA. This role also involves ongoing support, tenant maintenance, documentation, and technical training for customer IT teams.
Success in this role requires strong cloud operations expertise, hands-on experience with AWS and virtualization technologies, and the ability to operate effectively in a customer-facing, healthcare IT environment.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure product software on both Windows and Linux in AWS.
- Setup client virtualization technologies like Parallels and AppStream on AWS Cloud.
- Proactively Monitor the Cloud and respond to Cloud downtime notifications.
- Maintenance and patching of existing AWS infrastructure.
- Generate usage reports on Cloud.
- Perform cost optimization analysis on Cloud deployments.
- Installation and configuration of Terarecon products on customer network remotely or onsite.
- Perform Data migration as required in line with the requirements of the customer.
- Testing and verification of deployed applications on-prem as well as Cloud.
- Ensure continuous oversight of cloud services, proactively addressing resource utilization, capacity, and downtime to maintain business continuity and minimize operational impact.
- Maintenance and upgrade of customer's tenant on Terarecon's Cloud.
- Work with third party vendors (EMR, PACS, VNA) for integrations.
- Conduct Technical training for customer's IT staff.
- Occasional travel for installation and service visits to assigned territories and possibly abroad.
- Assist with post-installation support as and when required.
- Complete documentation of installation activities in the CRM.
- Managing customer service department projects/duties as required by management.
- Conduct internal knowledge transfer.
- Provide technical expertise on Terarecon's Cloud offering regarding Authentication, Storage, System specs, etc
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or IT Certification in a technical field or equivalent
- At minimum 4-7 years of experience in cloud operations, systems engineering, or related technical roles
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification required and AWS Solutions Architect preferred.
- Good analytical and written communications skills
- Enterprise server, workstation, networking, storage installation, and trouble-shooting skills
- Knowledge of any, or all, of the following is a plus but not required: DICOM, PACS, HL7 and EMR,
- Servers, Firewall configuration, Network performance testing, Enterprise computing
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft OS products (i.e. Server 2019 and 2022 and Windows 10, 11)
- Knowledge about SQL servers, IIS, and VMWare.
- Knowledge about Cloud services offered by AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
