We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Merchandise/Stocking Manager for Spirits to lead our inventory management and stocking operations. Responsibilities
- Manage daily stocking activities, including receiving shipments, organizing shelves, and ensuring proper product placement of spirits.
- Lead and supervise a team of staff responsible for inventory control, merchandising, and customer service.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies or shrinkage issues.
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies to optimize product displays and promote high-demand spirits.
- Coordinate purchasing and replenishment processes by working closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely stock availability.
- Oversee POS (Point of Sale) operations, including cash handling, pricing accuracy, and transaction management.
- Train staff on store policies, product knowledge, customer service techniques, and safety procedures related to stocking and inventory management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or store supervision, preferably within a grocery or liquor store environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math principles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, purchasing, merchandising, and stock control.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
- Experience with employee orientation, training & development, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and shift management.
- Ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately while maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in stock organization and store presentation.
- Leadership qualities with previous assistant manager or supervisory experience preferred.
