About the Role
In this role, you will lead the development of process engineering designs and specifications for both cryogenic and non‐cryogenic air separation projects. You’ll collaborate with cross‐functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high‐quality project execution while supporting continuous improvement and technology advancement.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering & Technical Design
- Develop process engineering designs and specifications for air separation projects.
- Perform process simulations, calculations, and heat & material balances (H&MB).
- Prepare and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and support P&ID development.
- Provide accurate process data for specifying compressors, chillers, adsorption systems, distillation columns, cold boxes, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, and analytical equipment.
Project Support & Execution
- Conduct cost‐benefit analyses and determine optimal design cases.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and review drawings to ensure technical compliance.
- Participate in HAZOP reviews, plant commissioning, startup activities, and safety/environmental assessments.
- Assist in troubleshooting, performance testing, and technical investigations for air separation units.
- Ensure assigned project phases are completed on schedule and within budget.
Quality, Training & Continuous Improvement
- Support quality assurance procedures to enhance process reliability and product performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements.
- Develop training materials and mentor team members in best practices.
- Maintain Lessons Learned documentation and contribute to ongoing improvement of processes, tools, standards, and specifications.
- Stay current with emerging process technologies and design methodologies.
Customer & Supplier Interface
- Communicate with customers and suppliers as needed to support engineering and project requirements.
Must‐Have Qualifications
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in Cryogenic and/or Non‐Cryogenic Air Separation.
- Experience developing PFDs and Heat & Material Balances.
- Proficiency with one or more process simulation tools.
- Knowledge of process equipment sizing, material selection, and utility calculations.
- Strong communication and problem‐solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
- Ability to uphold strict safety policies and practices at all times.
