Field Service Technician
A Field Service Technician is needed to support an air separation plant located in Lexington, NC. This role is the sole on‑site technical position for the facility, requiring strong proficiency in air separation plant operations along with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process control knowledge. The technician must be highly self‑motivated, able to work independently, and capable of managing all aspects of site operations. The position requires 24/7 on‑call availability, with occasional overnight travel for training or plant support.
Responsibilities
• Maintain all safety, quality, and regulatory compliance activities at the plant.
• Perform routine maintenance and manage maintenance schedules for process equipment.
• Conduct calibrations on equipment such as centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating compressors, gas analyzers, transmitters, electrical/PLC systems, and pneumatic control valves.
• Independently manage time and prioritize operations and maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving plant issues.
• Coordinate contractors and internal/external resources to support plant activities, audits, and administrative requirements.
• Maintain plant production levels and optimize operational efficiency.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
• Manage the plant’s operating budget and ensure cost‑effective operations.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree or technical certification is preferred.
• 2 years of experience in air separation plant operations or similar process control environments, instrumentation and control, or compressor maintenance. Industrial gas experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of industry safety regulations and operational best practices.
• General understanding of instrumentation, electrical systems, and control systems.
• Hands‑on experience with tools and equipment used to repair and replace mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
Salary : $100,000 - $115,000
