Men’s and Women's Soccer Assistant

Position Summary

Tennessee Wesleyan University, a member of the NAIA and Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), invites applications for a full-time Assistant Coach for the Men's and Women's Soccer programs.

Reporting to the Head Coaches, the Assistant Coach will assist in all aspects of operating successful NAIA soccer programs while serving as the Head Coach for the Men's and Women's Development Team (DT). The successful candidate will play a vital role in recruiting, student-athlete development, program administration, and fostering a championship culture.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as the Head Coach for the Men's and Women's Development Team (DT), including planning and conducting training sessions, coaching matches, and overseeing player development.
• Assist the Head Coaches with all aspects of operating successful NAIA men's and women's soccer programs.
• Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes for Tennessee Wesleyan University.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective student-athletes, families, club coaches, and high school coaches.
• Assist with practice planning, match preparation, scouting, video analysis, and player evaluations.
• Support the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes.
• Coordinate team travel, equipment, game-day operations, and other administrative duties.
• Assist with camps, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement activities.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all NAIA, Appalachian Athletic Conference, and Tennessee Wesleyan University rules and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coaches.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Previous coaching experience at the collegiate, club, academy, or high school level.
• Strong knowledge of the game of soccer and player development.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and build meaningful relationships with prospective student-athletes.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Collegiate coaching experience with either a men's or women's soccer program.
• Previous experience coaching a Development Team (DT), reserve team, or similar developmental squad.
• Demonstrated recruiting success at the collegiate level.
• Experience with video analysis, performance analysis, or goalkeeper training is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
