Title: Admissions & Records Clerk

Position Summary

Creates and maintains admissions records for new applicants and returning students at Nashville State Community College.

Essential Job Functions/Job Duties And Responsibilities

Perform job duties from the assigned campus or work location. Shares primary responsibility for accepting applications, processing applications, maintaining student records, making referrals and answering questions related to admissions and records requirements, including standards for programs with special admissions requirements. Processes applications, transcripts and other admissions documents, ensuring data entry into all systems is accurate. Serves as students’ point of contact for inquiries regarding their admissions files and the status of their applications and files. Maintains all physical and electronic student files prior to their transfer and release to the Records Office.

Disseminates information concerning College admissions and records policies and procedures to the campus community as needed. Serves as a registrar for the Selective Service System by submitting Selective Service Registration cards for students. Assists and supports the Welcome Center as needed and assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or educational equivalent

One (1) year of experience working in a higher education, office or business setting

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience performing data entry

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Professional telephone etiquette skills. Effective written and oral communication skills. Basic to intermediate computer skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of population of students, faculty and staff. Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as needed, to support admissions and records events.

Rate of Pay: $31,239.00 to $37,479.00 annually, depending on experience
