Temple’s Department of Neurology is seeking experienced, motivated, and collaborative Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)—either Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs)—to join our outpatient team in an innovative role designed to enhance access to subspecialty neurological care.
This position is part of a progressive care model where APPs serve as the first point of contact for new patients presenting with select common neurological conditions. APPs will conduct comprehensive initial evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs, and prepare patients for their subspecialty neurology visits. This model ensures that patients arrive at their specialist appointments with complete and actionable clinical information, improving care quality and efficiency.
Setting: Outpatient
Hours: Fulltime: M-F, 8 hrs. a day/ 40 hrs. a week | No On Call or Weekends
Location: Temple Main with a possible rotation to Episcopal. Jeanes & Chestnut Hill campus

Responsibilities include conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medical therapeutics, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, assisting in surgical procedures, and counseling patients on preventive care. The APP contributes to a safe, therapeutic, and inclusive environment that prioritizes patient-centered care, respecting each individual's age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background, and culture. All care is provided ethically, professionally, and in accordance with licensure guidelines and scope of practice.

Education
Nurse Practitioner
- Bachelors Degree : in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing . (Required)
- Masters Degree : in Nursing from an accredited Nursing program. (Required)
- Bachelors Degree (Required)
- Other : Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. (Required)
- CRNP - PA Cert Reg Nurse Practitioner (Required) or NCCPA - Certified Physician Assistant (Required)
- RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License (Required) or MPA-LIC - PA Medical Physician Asst Lic (Required)
- BLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
- 2 Years experience as a nurse practitioner (Preferred) or
- 4 years’ experience as a physician assistant (Preferred)
- 1 Year experience in a clinical specialty practice (Preferred)
- 1 year outpatient/ambulatory experience (Preferred)
- Experience in an EPIC environment (Preferred)
