What You’ll Be Doing:
As the Tool & Die Manager, you’ll lead a skilled team of toolmakers and machinists to design, fabricate, maintain, and repair precision tools and dies. You’ll ensure top-quality tooling supports production schedules, drive continuous improvement, manage inventories and budgets, and maintain a safe, efficient toolroom.
A Day in the Life:
- Lead and supervise the tool & die team, assigning tasks and fostering development
- Oversee tool and die design, fabrication, modification, and repairs
- Collaborate with engineering and production to support manufacturing needs
- Manage tooling inventory, ordering, and budget controls
- Ensure tooling quality and compliance with industry and safety standards
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs
- Maintain accurate tooling documentation and reports
- Train and mentor team members to enhance skills and safety awareness
You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Have 7 years in tool & die making and 3 years in a supervisory role
- Are skilled in CAD/CAM, blueprint reading, and tooling fabrication
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Understand lean manufacturing and quality control principles
- Are committed to safety and continuous improvement
Preferred Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree a plus
- Proven experience managing tool & die operations in manufacturing
- Hands-on expertise with manual and CNC machining, tool repairs, and quality inspections
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, move frequently, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally)
- Good vision and manual dexterity for detailed work
