This position will be based in Ashburn, VA.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for an organized accounts payable supervisor to provide strong leadership to our accounts payable department and to ensure that the department runs smoothly. To succeed as an account's payable supervisor, you should be focused on optimizing department processes and building lasting relationships with others within and outside of the business. You should be knowledgeable, analytical, and decisive with excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Manage the accounts payable function to ensure accurate and timely payments of vendor invoices and
expense vouchers while maintaining records and control reports.
• Proactively looks for opportunities to streamline processes, including leveraging technology.
• Monitor overdue payments and uncollected credit memos.
• Responsible for the hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating accounts payable staff members.
• Building and maintaining relationships with employees, internal departments, and vendors.
• Coordinates and schedules accounts payable processing/accounting events required for weekly payment
processing, monthly and annual closings as well as 1099 processing.
• Supports quarterly and yearly audits. Prepares numerous month-end entries to the general ledger as well as
monthly reconciliations.
• Reviews and verifies commitment and system generated accruals.
• Generating comprehensive weekly and monthly reports for working capital.
• Responds to inquiries from the Controller or CFO, and other finance and company-wide managers regarding
financial results and special reporting requests.
• Developing and improving existing policies, and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency in
order to meet SOX 404 requirements.
