Summary: Provide an unmatched 1 on 1 private lesson experience for each Nursery Ski Cub guest.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION ONLY! The position is ideal for individuals who work evenings or nights and are seeking a flexible daytime role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Explains and demonstrates principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, or feet to achieve proficiency in activity.
  • Observes students during practice to detect and correct mistakes.
  • Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for understanding scheduling resources and check schedule on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Managing personal schedule with supervisor or manager.
  • Provides a guest experience that exceeds the guest’s expectations.
  • Explains and demonstrates use of apparatus and equipment.
  • Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
  • Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and adheres to Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act.

Education

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have verifiable baby-sitting or other childcare experience; outside of family members preferred.
  • Infant and Child CPR and First Aid. Willingness to get certified.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense and understanding, to carry out written or oral instructions, and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills And Abilities

  • Must be an intermediate or better skier, comfortable on intermediate slopes.
  • Able to gain PSIA Level 1 Certification.
  • Basic Knowledge and understanding of child development and abilities from birth to five years.
  • High physical and mental energy level.
  • Quick reflexes and responses.
  • Patience.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
  • Must be able to function effectively in inclement weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally life and/or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The starting wage for this position is $23.50/hr DOE.
