Job Summary
Inspire and educate guests at the St. Sophia Nature Center! As a Nature Center Interpreter, you’ll provide environmental education, trail guidance, and guest services while overseeing daily operations, including retail sales and inventory.
Key Responsibilities
Starting wage: $21.00/hr

Inspire and educate guests at the St. Sophia Nature Center! As a Nature Center Interpreter, you’ll provide environmental education, trail guidance, and guest services while overseeing daily operations, including retail sales and inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage visitors with information on local wildlife, geology, vegetation, and history.
- Promote Leave No Trace ethics and provide hiking/biking guidance.
- Lead educational sessions for children and camp groups.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Nature Center.
- Process sales transactions and manage inventory.
- Deliver exceptional guest service and support TSG’s mission.
- Stay informed on trail conditions and safety guidelines.
- Adhere to company policies and uphold professional appearance standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of local ecosystems, wildlife, and outdoor recreation.
- Strong communication and public engagement skills.
- Experience working with children and environmental education.
- Professionalism in handling animals.
- Familiarity with Telluride/Mountain Village hiking and biking trails.
- Ability to use email, radio communication, and point-of-sale systems.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a related field.
- Degree in environmental studies, education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in environmental interpretation and guest engagement.
