The Television Academy, based in the NoHo Arts District in North Hollywood, California, is a nonprofit organization devoted to celebrating and empowering storytellers to push the boundaries of what Television can be. The only major organization fully representing the television and broadband screen entertainment industry, it is comprised of over 27,000 members, representing 31 professional peer groups, including performers, directors, producers, art directors and various other artisans, technicians and executives.
The Television Academy recognizes excellence among its peers with the Emmy award, culminating in the Primetime Emmy Awards telecast each fall. The Television Academy also produces several other awards shows and a variety of activities and events for its members throughout the year. Manager, Awards & Membership
About the Role
As the Manager, Awards and Membership, you will oversee awards submissions and membership processes for an assigned portfolio of Television Academy peer groups. The role reviews and validates Emmy Awards submissions, supports voting and judging activities, manages membership applications and eligibility reviews, maintains accurate records, and provides service to members, applicants, Governors, and Peer Group Executive Committees. The Manager also supports awards-event logistics, financial tracking, and the development and implementation of peer-group rules and procedures.
This is an individual-contributor position with no direct reports.
What You'll Do
Awards Operations
Review awards submissions for completeness, accuracy, eligibility, and appropriate category placement.
Communicate with entrants and members to resolve submission issues and answer questions regarding eligibility, rules, categories, deadlines, and procedures.
Prepare, review, and validate electronic ballots and related voting materials.
Set up and coordinate screening, voting, and judging panels, including scheduling, participant communications, eligibility confirmation, and distribution of materials.
Track, collect, and distribute materials required for final-round judging.
Maintain accurate nomination and winner information in the awards database.
Coordinate nominee communications, RSVPs, seating information, certificates, and related fulfillment.
Manage the production and distribution of nomination, production, and craft certificates.
Track awards-submission fees, ticket purchases, certificate orders, refunds, and related transactions.
Support the planning and execution of the Primetime Emmy Awards, Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Engineering Awards, and related awards presentations and events.
Provide onsite support during awards events, including occasional evening and weekend assignments.
Membership Operations
Manage the review of new membership applications and ongoing membership eligibility for assigned peer groups.
Research and validate professional credits, employment history, and other documentation used to determine eligibility.
Prepare eligibility findings and recommendations for Governor review.
Process Governor approval and denial decisions and communicate outcomes to applicants and members.
Maintain complete and accurate membership records in the membership database.
Process data updates, refunds, and related transactions as needed.
Respond to escalated member and applicant questions regarding membership requirements, application status, eligibility, and Academy procedures.
Exercise discretion when handling confidential applicant, member, financial, and eligibility information.
Committee & Governor Support
Support Governors in establishing and administering Peer Group Executive Committees.
Plan and coordinate Peer Group Executive Committee meetings, including scheduling, materials, attendance, follow-up, and documentation.
Support the Governor nomination and election process for assigned peer groups.
Partner with Governors and Peer Group Executive Committees to review and evaluate awards categories, rules/procedures, and membership requirements and recommend policy or procedural changes.
Maintain effective working relationships with Governors, committee members, Academy staff, members, applicants, nominees, entrants, and external partners.

Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with database systems especially membership platforms, CRM or other record management systems is a plus.
Flexible & Dedicated: Ability to work extended hours including some evenings and weekends, especially during peak months (April, May, August, and September).
What You Bring
BA/BS degree preferred
3-5 years of experience in awards administration, membership organizations, credentialing, customer service, professional association management, or related field.
Background in the entertainment industry or knowledge of television is a plus
Experience supporting committees, member boards, judging panels, voting processes or volunteer leadership groups.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $70,500 - $72,000 annually. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education depending on experience.
