Prior experience supporting federal or regulatory agencies, particularly working with records scheduled for permanent retention. Hands-on experience with FIRMA or comparable enterprise records preservation systems. Familiarity with Kofax Express, OpenDICE, and/or FADGI conformance measurement tools.
Demonstrated expertise in: Creation and management of metadata (administrative, descriptive, and technical) File naming conventions and comprehensive inventory tracking. Reassembly and verification of digitized records against original source materials Experience performing 100% quality control reviews and statistically valid sampling inspections to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
Background in records management, archives, library science, or digital preservation environments.
Responsibilities;
Prepare federal records for digitization by removing fasteners, repairing fragile materials, flagging oversized or damaged documents, and ensuring proper document order prior to scanning.
Digitize permanent and temporary federal records—including paper documents, photographs, negatives, microfilm, and microfiche—in compliance with NARA regulations and FADGI 3-star performance standards. Configure and operate high-speed production scanning equipment and associated software to meet project-specific technical specifications. Perform non-destructive scanning to preserve the physical integrity of original records. Conduct daily equipment testing and calibration using approved reference targets to ensure consistent image quality and FADGI compliance. Create, apply, and verify accurate metadata (administrative, descriptive, and technical) in accordance with NARA regulations and project guidelines. Profile records and folders into the designated records preservation system (e.g., FIRMA) or complete metadata templates for offsite digitization projects. Perform 100% quality control reviews to verify image clarity, resolution, color accuracy, file format compliance, completeness, and correct orientation.Conduct statistically valid sampling inspections to identify image defects, metadata errors, or workflow inconsistencies and initiate corrective actions. Re-scan materials as required when quality thresholds are not met and document corrective measures taken. Maintain accurate daily inventories tracking document preparation, scanning, quality review, and delivery status. Reassemble digitized records into their original order and condition following scanning and quality control. Safeguard sensitive and confidential federal records at all times, adhering to strict information security and handling requirements.
Support project reporting by documenting completed work and contributing to weekly status updates.
Collaborate with project managers, quality leads, and government representatives to resolve issues and ensure adherence to approved project plans.

Background Investigation:
This position requires that you obtain a background investigation. As part of this process, the government will perform a criminal, credit, tax, employment, and drug history background check.
