Promark Utility Services, a division of Telecon Design USA, is seeking experienced and motivated Private Utility Locators to support residential and commercial customers across Washington. If you are a reliable, detail-focused professional who enjoys working independently in the field, this is a great opportunity to join a growing team and build your career.
Promark has operated for more than 25 years and is expanding its footprint in Washington and Oregon. We are assembling a team of technically skilled individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to grow with us as we build our Northwest operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform private utility locates with a strong focus on safety and accuracy.
- Complete locate requests within required timeframes and service-level expectations.
- Review construction prints, plans, maps, and related data to determine utility locations.
- Operate EM induction equipment, acoustic tools, and GPR systems to identify underground utilities.
- Create accurate digital sketches using company-provided technology.
- Mark utilities according to local and state regulations.
- Communicate with contractors, developers, builders, and local authorities regarding utility locations.
- Respond to emergency locates, priority tickets, and utility strikes (dig-ups).
- Prepare documentation and reports confirming completed locates.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stored in the company vehicle.
- Follow Promark Utility Services standards and schedules.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2 years of private utility locating experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read maps, sketches, and prints; CAD experience is a strong asset
- Proficient computer and mobile technology skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to use your personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Ability to pass a background check, MVR review, and DOT physical
- Ability to travel locally (up to 50%) and stay overnight for remote assignments (per diem provided)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills, including managing challenging situations
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail in fast-paced environments
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to escalate issues when needed
- Self-motivated mindset and the ability to work with minimal supervision
