What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician position at TELE-CONSULTANTS INC?
Tele-Consultants, Inc. (TCI) is actively seeking an experienced Engineering Technician in support of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT).
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inspect and test incoming assets to evaluate system condition and document all deficiencies.
- Operate, troubleshoot, upgrade, and perform diagnostics, recommend repairs, and perform repairs (upon approval).
- Identify and document failed components and replace failed components as part of the repair process.
- Conduct teardown, installation, configuration management, final assembly, and verification testing.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, software regression, pre-installation test and checkout (PITCO).
- Prepare, update, and submit reports as required.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Minimum of High school diploma or GED;
- 15 years’ experience with SubHDR repairs.
Additional Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Submarine High Data Rate (SubHDR) repair process to include operations and maintenance of the Mast Rail Test Station (MRTS).
- Strong technical communication skills.
The nature of this position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a thorough background investigation.
The primary location for performance of the work will be Newport, RI occasional travel.
