We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and trustworthy Accounting Office Manager to lead the financial operations of our fast-paced legal environment. This is a growth-focused position offering hands-on training and mentorship opportunities, with a clear path toward expanded financial leadership responsibilities. Our current accounting manager is transitioning to part-time over the next 3-6 months and will be training a new employee to take on all aspects of the role of manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and take ownership of core financial processes
- Maintain and reconcile vendor, client records, and general ledger accounts
- Monitor and manage cash flow
- Oversee and execute month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and general ledger maintenance
- Process settlement payments to clients
- Reconcile trust accounts to trust funds
- Maintain mastery of all processes within the accounting department
- Monitor business insurance and work with brokers on renewals
- Register with Department of Revenue and Unemployment Divisions for various states as we hire remote workers.
- Must have complete understanding of payroll, may be responsible for processing, and must monitor all payroll expense and liability accounts
- Management of office operations
- Facilities management for building which has four tenants.
- Respond to local, state and federal government inquiries and ensure all licenses are up to date.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience); bachelor's degree preferred
- Must have college-level accounting coursework
- 7–10 years of progressive professional accounting experience, including month-end close and financial reporting
- 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead accounting role required
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with accounting, payroll, and financial management systems
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
